Well Inspections

Why get a well inspection?

A private well system is evaluated and tested when it is originally drilled and when pump work is completed. Outside of that, it is the responsibility of the well owner to maintain and test that well. This means that a private well system may go years without maintenance or testing. As a result, most lenders during a real estate transaction will require a water test and/or a well inspection to ensure the system is code-compliant and delivering safe, reliable water.

What does a well inspection include?

At Pure Water Labs, your inspection will include an evaluation of the well system to code-compliance and a water test for Coliform/E. coli Bacteria, Arsenic, and Nitrate from the well. If additional testing is requested, we can collect that at the time of the appointment and add that to your inspection. Please make sure to check with your lender about what tests they require to guarantee that we get everything you need.

What happens if I get deficiencies listed in the report?

If deficiencies in the well system are observed during the inspection, they will be listed in the report.  If this occurs, we will give you recommendations on how to fix the system and any contractors in your area that can complete the work.
