Why Test your Water?

Water is ALWAYS moving and frequently changing. As a result, it is important to keep an eye on your water source. Some facilities service enough people and connections that they are considered a public water system and require regular testing by the WI DNR. However, private wells are not monitored or regulated by any agency, which means regular testing is YOUR responsibility.

A few simple tests each year can help you keep an eye on the quality of your water and extend the life of your well system. It lets you see what is occurring inside your water system, allowing you to make decisions to treat the water accordingly or catch issues early. This could save you both time and money with easier fixes or extending the lifespan of appliances such as dishwashers, washing machines, and hot water heaters. More importantly, it ensures peace of mind that you and your family are drinking safe water.

What to Test For?

For the private well owner, the EPA and WI DNR recommends annual testing for total coliform/E. coli bacteria, arsenic, and nitrate. If your water has suddenly changed color, taste, or odor, give us a call. Each water situation is unique. Our team will work with you to troubleshoot issues, recommend the right tests, and guide you toward solutions.

What tests can we do?

Pure Water Labs is DATCP certified for total coliform/E. coli bacteria testing and offers a full range of drinking water analyses through our partner labs. Tests range from primary contaminants (e.g. arsenic & nitrate) to secondary contaminants (e.g. iron & calcium) and water characteristics (e.g. hardness & pH). We can also do testing on more complex contaminants such as metals & minerals screen, PFAS and pesticides.
